Safety Protocols for Walk-In Shopping - What to Expect

Beginning Friday, November 13, we are adding safe in-store, walk-in shopping two days a week, on Fridays and Saturdays! Before you visit, please read all the safety protocols below. These are required by Contra Costa County for us to open safely.
Three Ways to Shop:
Tuesdays - By Appointment Only
• Personal in-store and virtual shopping by appointment only (12n-3pm); No walk-in business
• For customers with a preference for personal shopping support
• Schedule your appointment online now! If you prefer a virtual appointment via Zoom, schedule your appointment and indicate in the notes that it's virtual. We are happy to help!
Fridays and Saturdays - By Appointment and Walk-in Shopping
• Open for walk-in business, with In-Store Shopping Protocols (12n - 3pm)
• Personal shopping by appointment (11am-12n) in-store or virtual, same as Tuesdays
Online shopping, email and phone shopping requests will continue to be supported.
Curbside pickup and shipping will be available during any of these timeframes
• Tuesday, Fridays, and Saturdays from 12-3pm
We’ll need your help and cooperation to make this transition successfully. We’ve been closed for walk-in shopping since March 16, so re-opening is a big step! Please be patient with us as we strive to support you safely. We can’t wait to see you!
To ensure everyone’s safety, and to stay aligned with Contra Costa County and California re-opening guidelines, we’ll have the following practices in place. Please review these guidelines before visiting the shop for a happy shopping experience:
Look for the “Open” sign and wait by the door for us to let you in (limited capacity).
Wear your mask properly over your nose and mouth.
Sanitize your hands as you enter and before touching yarn or products.
Keep your distance (6-feet, that is). Air hugs are welcome!
Please make other plans for your kids so you can focus on choosing your yarn! We love them and know they’ve grown, and we aren’t able to sanitize kid-friendly spaces right now.
We’ll invite 3 customers in at a time; you may need to wait outside or in your car for entry so bring your knitting or crocheting. We'll call you when it's your turn to come in.
We want to help everyone; your shopping time will be limited to 30 minutes or less so we can invite others in when you’re done.
Your check-out process will be contactless and you’ll see new shields up at our register. We will only accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express as payments (no cash).
In-store services like yarn winding, Ravelry searches, and in-person project help are still on hold.
All sales are final during the pandemic for your protection and ours.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone not adhering to these guidelines if we feel our customers or staff are at risk.
- These guidelines may be revised based on county or state modifications.
We’ll be smiling under our masks, and will wear them all the time.
We’ll keep our hands sanitized and we’ll sanitize the high-touch surfaces regularly for your safety.
We’ll keep our distance (6-feet, that is).
We’ll check our temperature daily and won’t work if we aren’t feeling well, or if we’ve been notified we’ve been exposed to COVID-19.
