|On June 21, from 7AM to 8PM, we will be doing what we love to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. We are participating in The Longest Day, a fundraising event to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Our team is called “Creating Moments at A Yarn Less Raveled” and we are honored to participate in such an important and impactful event. |
We anticipate a full house for this event and will have refreshments and other activities planned. Please RSVP if you’d like to join us for our day of knitting and crochet! We'll open the Learning Studio at 7AM and we'll be there, knitting and crocheting, until 8PM. Spend the entire day or come for an hour or two. We'll be holding a raffle for amazing gifts, and all proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association.
As additional support for this cause, the shop will be open regular Thursday hours (10am to 7pm) and we will donate a portion of our profits to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of our wonderful community.
There is no fee for this event; instead, we ask that you consider making a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association. We will also have forms available in the shop if you’d prefer to write a check for your gift.
If you aren’t able to join us on June 21 for The Longest Day, please consider joining our team in contributing to this very special fundraising activity by donating via this link or by coming into the shop to pick up a Donation Form.
Today, over 35 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer's, including 5.7 million Americans. It is the 6th leading cause of death in the US and the 3rd leading cause of death in California and it is the only cause of death among the top 10 in the United States that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed. In the U.S. alone, more than 15 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer's and dementia. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.
Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer's disease that they are not alone. Please make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!
