Sock It To Me: Learn to Knit Socks
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
In this workshop, you’ll learn the basic construction and techniques as we knit a miniature sock, and you’ll be ready to cast on your first full-size sock in the follow-up session. If you haven’t used the Magic Loop method, we’ll cover this technique in class.
PREREQUISITE SKILLS:
You should know how to confidently cast on (long-tail), knit in the round, purl, and bind off. We’ll cover the other techniques in class.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
We request that you purchase your project yarn from the shop for your full-size sock and you will receive a one-time 10% discount on your class yarn purchase.You will need the following for the miniature sock:
- Yarn for your Miniature Sock - 50 yds. Worsted weight wool yarn (plied) in a light color (you may use yarn from your stash).
- Needles – US 6-32" circular or US 6-40" circular
- Stitch markers
- Approximately 400 yds of fingering/sock weight yarn purchased at A Yarn Less Raveled. You will receive a one-time 10% discount on this yarn when purchased for this class.
- US 2-32" circular or 40" circular needles for your full-size sock.
- Stitch markers
- The pattern will be provided in class.
- Duration: 4 hours (two 2-hour sessions)
