Introduction to Sequence Knitting (Cecelia Campochiaro)

What You Will Learn: 

This workshop provides an introduction to Sequence Knitting and the creation of textured knit fabric. You will create some swatches to get a feeling for the range of possibilities and understand how you can use sequence knitting in your own work.  

Specific Topics Include:

  • Concept of sequence knitting
  • The four ways to do sequence knitting: 1-row, shaped-1-row, in the round, serpentine (swatching will include 1-row and serpentine)
  • How to read sequence knitting instructions
  • When sequence knitting makes sense
  • Reversibility
  • Common mistakes
  • Reading sequence knitting charts
  • Keys to getting great results


Suitable for advanced beginners through very experienced knitters. You should be able to independently knit, purl, cast on, and bind off.


  • 2 balls of smooth yarn in solid contrasting colors. At least one color should be light.  Please use yarn from the shop for this workshop.  You will receive a one-time 10% discount on yarn purchased for the class.
  • Appropriately sized needles
  • A pen or pencil for note-taking

Instructor: Cecelia Campochiaro
Instructor Bio: Cecelia Campochiaro grew up in a family of artists and has been knitting since she was 12. Her professional work is to develop finely calibrated machines that inspect computer chips, which requires precision on par with counting a gauge swatch.
